The weather is starting to get nice again! (Yay!!!) Before long we’ll see the streets of Fairmount dotted with residents and visitors sipping lattes and catching up with friends, wrangling toddlers, or enjoying the company of their pet.
You have a few options when it comes to coffee houses in Fairmount.
1. OCF Coffee House
Okay, I’m biased because this is my favorite cafe in Fairmount. When I come in, they know I want an iced latte with whole milk and light ice, even when it’s a tundra outside. And I know who recently got married, who’s an amazing artist and does all the shop’s amazing signage, who’s studying to be an esthetician, etc. It’s my home away from home, especially because I can’t pull a decent espresso shot to save my life.
2. Lucky Goat
The coffee in this shop is fantastic. One thing I love about this coffee shop is they have complimentary flavored water that they switch up with different embellishments (cucumber, strawberries, lime, lemon, etc.). It’s a nice touch. They also have various board games for customers to use, which adds to its quaintness.
3. The Monkey & the Elephant
I’ve wanted to try this one for a while but haven’t gotten around to it. One thing that’s really nice about it is it’s a job and life skills program that seeks to equip youth who’ve aged out of foster care with the tools necessary to make the transition to self-sufficient adulthood, which is really fantastic mission statement!
4. Vineyards Cafe
I don’t know anything about this cafe because it’s off my beaten path. But it’s also a creperie, and crepes are pretty much one of my favorite things! So this has been an oversight of mag props for sure. And judging by their reviews on Yelp, they know their stuff.
